The Wisdom of Discernment
Point 1: Recognizing Good from Evil
Scripture: Hebrews 5:14 - "But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."
Explanation: True wisdom entails the ability to discern between what is morally right and wrong, understanding the consequences of our choices, and making decisions that align with righteousness.
Point 2: Differentiating Truth from Deception
Scripture: 1 John 4:1 - "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
Explanation: Wisdom empowers us to differentiate between truth and falsehood, enabling us to navigate through the complexities of life with clarity and conviction.
Point 3: Discerning the Will of God
Scripture: Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Explanation: Genuine wisdom enables us to discern the will of God amidst the noise of the world, guiding us to live according to His purpose and plan for our lives.
Conclusion: As followers of Christ, let us cultivate the wisdom of discernment, rooted in the truth of God's Word, so that we may walk in righteousness, navigate through life's challenges with clarity, and fulfill His will for our lives.
In Christ,
Michael David
